Dungenee Ger Camp
Dungenee Ger Camp is a flight away in the South Gobi province and located right on the border of Gobi Gurvansaikan National Park . It is located on the upland towards the Gurvansaikhan Mountains some 2km from where the far end of Yol Valley (Yoliin Am) empties out of the mountains. Why it is possible to visit the core of theYol Valley and walk back to camp through the gorge in a few hours. Early in the season this gorge is covered by ice and snow, and later one may walk freely.
There is an intermediate period when such walks may be dangerous so please check with the camp management before you set out. Otherwise, in the South Gobi , excursions are usually vehicle supported since the sights are far between each other. Such as sand dunes (which are hard to find) and Bayanzag, labeled “the Flaming Cliffs” by Roy Chapman Andrews. His expedition unearthed the first ever dinosaur fossilized eggs in the 1920s.
Gurvansaikhan Mountains and Bayanzag are exceptionally good birding areas. South Gobi is the least populated province in Mongolia why neighbors live far in between each other. Here are more motorbikes and vehicles than elsewhere in Mongolia due to the trading rights local people enjoy with China . You travel here for the fantastic landscapes primarily.
