Ger Camps

Ger Camps

Nomadic Journeys and its local partners have developed low impact ger camps that are small and intimate. Currently there are three such camps around in Mongolia and more are in the loop to be put into service. They all share the common characteristics of being small enough to avoid noisy generators.

Rather they are powered by wind generators and solar panels. They have a maximum of 14 guest gers. The main drawback being that is sometimes hard to get a reservation to these camps. The guest gers have candles rather than electrical bulbs. The standard is double occupancy with a guaranteed single occupancy if requested in advance. Rather than 3-4 beds in each ger. All camps are operated by the people that own them. Your hosts are in the area.

  • Living the mongolian way

Great place to stay and experience mongolian way of living, no tv, wifi, phone. Just nature and great company of the staff and livestocks of mongolia. The toilet is a hole in the ground covered by a shed. It is clean, but can be smelly to those used to city life. Not hot water supply, inform the staff that you like to hot water half an hour earlier so that they can boil it over camel dung 🙂
