The Crew
Nomadic Journeys offer all kinds of trips in Mongolia. We, however, specialize in
treks, horseback journeys and sports fishing, all of which involves camping arrangements.
To provide the logistical support in a country such as Mongolia, almost devoid of any
infrastructure require us to be self sufficient during most parts of our
trips:
One Mongolian interpreter will be with the group at all times. He or she
will collaborate closely with a local trailfinder or guide of the area you are in. Apart
from English/Mongolian, interpreters are available in Japanese, Korean, English, German, Spanish
and French on request. Moreover a cook is brought along from the capital, such as
Tungalag, Amangul or Enkhjargal.. They are all the back-bone of our organization since
good cooks are few in Mongolia. In the wintertime they work in the best Ulaanbaatar
hotels, hence, familiar with European cooking. They even know how to prepare fish, which
is rare in Mongolia. The cook will always have a assistant, that will help out with most
duties around the camp. Meals will be a mixture of both Mongolian and western cuisine.

Now, what really makes a Nomadic Journey, is that we also hire the
services of local people of the area. They are the owners of our support animals be they
horses, yaks or camels. They will be our guides to the area, as well as contact with the
locals.
