Khuvsgul River Adventures

Floating the Khuvsgul Canyons

Introduction

Luxury River Adventure near Lake Khuvsgul

Just a few hours from Murun and the crystal-clear waters of this river, this exclusive river journey is one of the most immersive and luxurious ways to explore the untamed beauty of northern Mongolia. Designed for those seeking both comfort and adventure, this trip combines river rafting through pristine wilderness with authentic Mongolian hospitality.

Float through dramatic canyons and lush valleys, surrounded by dense forests and snow-capped mountains. As you drift downstream, you’ll pass through remote and untouched terrain that few travelers ever reach. Each night, settle into beautifully appointed ger camps set in scenic locations. These traditional felt dwellings are outfitted with modern comforts such as cozy bedding, wood-burning stoves, and dedicated dining gers offering freshly prepared meals using local ingredients.

This river expedition is operated in close partnership with local herder communities and conservation organizations. Your journey directly supports the protection of the region’s wild rivers and fragile ecosystems, while also generating meaningful income for local families. Our expert river guides, cooks, and camp crew ensure a smooth and enriching experience from start to finish.

What our guests say

We appreciate your feedback about our tours and services.

  • Living the mongolian way

Great place to stay and experience mongolian way of living, no tv, wifi, phone. Just nature and great company of the staff and livestocks of mongolia. The toilet is a hole in the ground covered by a shed. It is clean, but can be smelly to those used to city life. Not hot water supply, inform the staff that you like to hot water half an hour earlier so that they can boil it over camel dung 🙂
